The Boy

Avinoam und sein Sohn Barak leben in Kfar Aza, einem Kibbuz unweit des Gazastreifens. Als der Raketenalarm ertönt, erstarrt der traumatisierte Barak. Der Film erzählt von Kriegstraumata und ist ein filmisches Denkmal für einen Ort, der am 7. Oktober 2023 nahezu ausgelöscht wurde. Gleichzeitig ist er das persönliche Vermächtnis von Yahav Winner sel. A., der an diesem Tag ermordet wurde.

Avinoam and his son Barak live in Kfar Aza, a kibbutz not far from the Gaza strip. When the missile alarm sounds, Barak’s traumatized gaze freezes. The film tells of the traumas of war and is a filmic monument to the place that was as good as destroyed on October 7, 2023. At the same time, it is the personal legacy of Yahav Winner, who was murdered that day.

Supernova

Das Massaker auf dem Supernova Musikfestival vom 7. Oktober, bei dem durch den Angriff der Hamas 365 Menschen getötet, Hunderte verwundet und 40 Personen in den Gazastreifen entführt wurden, ist eine historische Zäsur. Der Anschlag auf das Festival in Re‘im war eines der ersten Ziele der Hamas und der Beginn des Krieges, der bis zum heutigen Tag andauert. Diese erste minutengenaue Dokumentation trägt Berichte von Augenzeug*- innen, Ersthelfer*innen und Angehörigen zusammen. Nur wenige Tage nach den Ereignissen gefilmt, ist ihr Trauma und ihre Sprachlosigkeit über das Geschehene offensichtlich, ihre Trauer allgegenwärtig, die Angst anhaltend.

Zusammengeschnitten mit Aufnahmen von Nachrichten der Opfer, Überwachungskameras, Dashcams und GoPros der Terroristen entsteht eine emotionale, bildgewaltige Dokumentation.

Dieser Film enthält Darstellungen sexualisierter, körperlicher und seelischer Gewalt sowie Kriegs- und Schusswaffengeräusche, die für manche verstörend sein können und daher nicht für alle Zuschauer*innen geeignet sind.

Im Anschluss sprechen Marina Chernivsky (Vorständin und Geschäftsführerin von OFEK) und eine Überlebende des Massakers sowie Sabena Donath (Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland).

The massacre at the Supernova music festival on October 7, where 365 people were killed in the Hamas attack, hundreds wounded, and 40 taken as hostages into the Gaza strip, marks a historical caesura. The festival in Re’im was one of the first places targeted by Hamas, marking the beginning of the war that continues to rage to this day. This first documentary, accurate to the minute, combines reports by eye-witnesses, first responders, and relatives. Filmed only a few days after the events, their trauma and speechlessness in the face of what happened is manifest, their sorrow omnipresent, the fear persistent.

Edited with footage of news of the victims, from surveillance cameras, dash cams, and GoPros used by the terrorists, the result is an emotional documentary with overpowering images. 

The film contains accounts of sexualized, physical, and psychological violence as well as the sounds of war and guns; some people may find this disturbing and it is therefore not suitable for all viewers.

After the screening, Marina Chernivsky (Chair and MD of OFEK e.V.) and a survivor of the festival will talk to Sabena Donath (Central Council of Jews in Germany).
