Der verträumte Bellisha ist 27 Jahre alt und lebt mit seiner kranken Mutter Giselle, die kaum ausgeht und der er vorgaukelt, dass er fest im Arbeitsleben integriert ist. Als sowohl die Synagoge als auch der letzte koschere Laden in dem Pariser Vorort schließen, sind die beiden die letzten dort verbleibenden Jüdinnen*Juden. Giselle macht sich Sorgen um die Zukunft ihres Sohnes, begreifen, dass auch sie gehen müssen. Bellisha, der wenig Lust auf einen Weggang aus seinem geliebten Viertel hat, begegnet dem mit viel Kreativität und Chuzpe.

Bellisha, who has his head in the clouds, is 27 years old, lives with his mother Giselle, who is ill and hardly ever leaves the house. He leads her to believe he’s firmly integrated into the world of work. When both the synagogue and the last kosher store in their Parisian suburb close down, the two protagonists are the last two Jews left. Giselle is worried about her son’s future and realizes they have to leave. Bellisha, who is not at all interested in moving away from his beloved neighborhood, tries to thwart her plan with a mass of creativity and a good dose of chutzpah.
A bittersweet drama about identity, growing up, and bidding farewell to home.
