“Never seek revenge” — those were the last words Irena Veisaitė’s mother said to her daughter. Words that would go on to shape Irena Veisaitė’s entire life. Directed by Giedrė Žickytė, the film tells Irena’s life story — a Lithuanian cultural figure and Holocaust survivor who passed away in 2020 — and how she maintained her optimism and compassion despite the horrific experiences of her youth. The film weaves together footage from the past with reflective moments from present day to create a heartfelt tribute to a woman who dedicated her life to humanity.
