Inspired by the personal experiences of director and lead actor Jonah Feingold, this romantic comedy — as hilarious as it is heartwarming — tells the story of 30-year-old New Yorker Leo Kadner. When he unexpectedly reunites with his childhood sweetheart Eva from Jewish summer camp, Leo decides to finally have his bar mitzvah. What was initially an attempt to attract Eva’s attention turns into a journey of self-discovery and a belated step into adulthood.

With plenty of charm, wit, and an excellent supporting cast, 31 CANDLES explores themes such as identity, tradition, Jewish joy of life, and the possibility of a second chance at love.
