The disgraced Hasidic wedding entertainer Moishe Striker desperately needs one last big gig to finance his daughter’s wedding. Once regarded as Jerusalem’s most sought-after badchan — a traditional Jewish wedding comedian and master of ceremonies — years of addiction and declining fortunes have taken their toll on his former glory.

When his childhood friend Yisroel Bomchik returns to Jerusalem for his son’s wedding, Moishe senses this is his last chance. He persuades his old friend to hire him as co-host of the celebration — much to the displeasure of Meshulam Kalicker, a much younger and more self-assured badchan who had already been hired. Before long, the two entertainers butt heads, and the wedding celebration threatens to descend into chaos.
