Ada Karmi-Melamede is one of the world’s most important architects — yet she is virtually unknown outside of Israel.
As her daughter, the filmmaker and former architect Yael Melamede, paints a moving portrait of an extraordinary woman in ADA – MY MOTHER THE ARCHITECT.
As a pioneer of her generation, Ada always had to balance family and career. Despite personal sacrifices, her buildings — including the Supreme Court in Jerusalem, the Open University, Ben-Gurion Airport, and numerous public institutions — have helped to shape Israel’s democratic identity.
In cooperation with the Deutschen Architekturmuseum
Afterward, director Yael Melamede will speak with curator Oliver Elser (Deutschen Architekturmuseum).
