The daydreamer Berre lives for sounds and noises — collecting, archiving, and creating them. As an intern at Belgian Radio, then the world’s largest radio station, he discovers his extraordinary talent for creating soundscapes for radio plays while working in the Flagey Building in Brussels. But in May 1940, the looming German invasion changes everything. As fear and mistrust grow, Berre’s affection for his Jewish colleague Elza — whose family is living illegally in Belgium — is also under threat.
With poetic imagery and impressive sound design, the film tells a story of love, fear, and the unifying power of music in times of political persecution.
